Our Small Animal/Avain-Exotic Animal Emergency Service
is open from 8 AM - 10 PM.
Veterinarians and other members of the veterinary team
continue to provide care for hospitalized patients overnight.
Between the hours of 10 PM and 8 AM we are limiting admissions of new cases
to those with immediate life-threatening emergencies or critical care needs
such as hit by car, gastric dilatation-volvulus (bloat), or respiratory
distress. Patients with urgent but non-life-threatening needs should
contact their primary veterinarian as soon as possible. All cases which do
arrive at our front door will be assessed and triaged, and if necessary
provided appropriate emergent care.
This only affects our Small Animal Hospital, NOT our Equine and Farm Animal
hospitals.

POWER OUTAGE NOTICE
The University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center will operate at
severely reduced patient capacity from Saturday, December 16, 2023,
until Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
PRIOR TO SENDING A PATIENT TO THE HOSPITAL, CALL (865) 974-8387 FOR PHONE
TRIAGE and assessment to determine whether we have the resources to admit
the patient.
UTCVM Diagnostic Laboratory Service will not be able to accept any
necropsies from Tuesday, December 26, 2023 until Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Our Pathology Service will not be able to process biopsies received between
December 20 - January 1.
