Poultry Judging - Open to all 4th to 12th grade (on Jan 1, 2024) 4-H members.
Poultry Judging allows you to learn how to identify and assess quality standards and characteristics of eggs, poultry meat and live hens. No prior experience is needed. Participants compete as part of a team and as individuals.
Practice Schedule:
August 15- Introduction to Poultry Judging
August 22- Eggs and Grading
August 29- Carcass and Meat Cut I.D.
September 5- Handling and Evaluating live birds
September 12- (Open)
*September 16 – Contest practice
September (TBD) - Central Region Poultry Judging Contest!
*This practice is on a Monday evening.
All practices will be on Thursdays from 6:30pm-7:45pm except for Sept 16 (6:30 PM, Mezzanine level of the Ag Park Arena)
